NBC Sports Washington wanted to make Washington Wizards games more interactive by integrating real-time sports betting-style engagement into its live broadcast. To support its “Predict the Game” contest, Telescope used its Live Prediction Product and Custom Fantasy League capabilities to connect the experience to NBC Washington’s mobile app and web experience.
Telescope implemented a synced prediction game with an alternate broadcast, real-time prompts, a leaderboard, and a simulated betting experience where viewers could answer questions during the game for a chance to win $500. The campaign drove strong participation, with 20% of premiere viewers playing along at launch and engagement growing throughout the season.
