Native App to support the play along, support content and vote experiences for ABC's American Idol

Telescope worked with American Idol on ABC to create a native app for iOS and Android that would bring voting, play-along content, user-generated content, and show information into one centralized fan experience. The goal was to increase voter participation and give viewers a richer second-screen experience during the relaunched season.

Using Telescope’s Native App, uPic, Fan Feed, Custom Online Vote, Triple Play, and Multi Vote products, the team built a companion app that supported sign-in, voting, social interaction, trivia, contestant info, curated video playlists, and live voting during episodes. The result was American Idol’s first dedicated mobile app and major engagement gains, including over 71 million votes in the first performance show of Season 13 and more than 6 billion votes across all seasons and voting methods.
