NASA Super Blood Moon Photo Contest UGC photo uploader with moderated gallery and share-to-vote mechanic

NASA worked with Telescope to build engagement, participation, and buzz around the rare Super Blood Moon. The challenge was to get stargazers around the world involved in a timely photo contest using tools that could handle user submissions and community interaction.

Telescope provided a two-phase solution using its Uploader, moderated Fan Feed gallery, and Custom Online Vote/share-to-vote mechanic. Participants submitted more than 8,000 photos, NASA approved select images for the gallery, and 6 finalists were chosen for voting by sharing to Facebook with #SuperBloodMoon; the image with the most validated shares won and was featured on NASA’s website and social media.
