Interactive hub with second-screen play-along experience and on-air integration

ESPN partnered with Telescope to refresh Around the Horn for its 16th anniversary and create a more interactive viewing experience. The challenge was to give fans a way to engage with the show in real time, learn more about the panelists, and connect the digital experience to what was happening on air.

Telescope built a second-screen interactive hub using products such as Live Scoring, Passion Meter, a Custom Play-Along Hub, and Connect Live. Viewers could score panelists during each episode, vote in live polls, browse panelist bios and stats on a leaderboard, and watch video highlights, while average scores and poll results appeared on air to match audience sentiment. The campaign helped drive real-time fan engagement and earned a 2019 Shorty Awards finalist recognition for Integration with Live TV.
