HBO partnered with Telescope to create an interactive Game of Thrones finale experience for fans. With the series coming to an end, HBO wanted a special way to engage super-fans and let them participate in a prediction-style “Who will take the throne?” vote using Telescope’s Custom Online Vote product.
Telescope integrated the poll directly with Comcast’s Xfinity Set Top Box so viewers could vote in real time by speaking “For the Throne” into their voice remotes, see live standings, and receive shareable character badges by text. The campaign generated over 1 million votes, including about 800,000 in the first three weeks, and drove strong viewer interaction during broadcasts.
