Disney partnered with Telescope to help generate excitement for the theatrical preview of Free Guy, Disney’s first theatrical release in nearly a year due to COVID-19. The challenge was to create buzz around the film and give invited attendees at 10 U.S. theaters a more memorable, interactive screening experience. Telescope’s Social Wall product was used for the activation.

Telescope implemented a customized Social Wall on the big screen 30 minutes before the screening, featuring a digital countdown, branded visuals, and a live feed of moderated attendee tweets using the hashtag #HereForFreeGuy. This encouraged real-time social participation and turned moviegoers into featured content. The result was increased buzz and engagement around the film launch, while giving attendees a fun on-site experience and their “15 minutes of fame.”
