CNN used Telescope’s Connect Live during coverage of the White House Correspondents’ Dinner to engage viewers with real-time polling and social content-to-air. The challenge was to keep the audience involved across TV, web, and social channels while integrating viewer participation into the live broadcast.
Telescope enabled CNN to run polls on CNN.com and Twitter, curate and approve Instagram and Twitter posts with designated hashtags and keywords, and bring poll data into the on-air experience. The campaign drove 95.3K views on the polling destination, an average of 6.3 minutes spent per user, and 3,889 mentions of #CNNVote reaching 101 million people, while CNN also won its demo from 9p–12a and had the most overall viewers from 10p–12a.
