A Telescope Case Study
NBC used Telescope to power audience voting for American Song Contest, the live eight-week music competition where 56 artists from U.S. states and territories competed for “America’s Best Original Song.” NBC needed a way to let fans vote across multiple channels while also managing a jury-based ranking process for the show.
Telescope implemented Social Vote, Standard Vote, and a Native App solution to support voting online, in the NBC app, and through TikTok, plus a custom ranking application for jurors and seven dashboards for NBC. The system let fans vote up to 10 times per artist during each window and helped NBC collect and organize votes at scale, turning audience participation into weekly rankings that determined who advanced to the semifinals, finale, and ultimately the winner.
