America’s Got Talent worked with Telescope to create a real-time voting experience for a pre-taped broadcast of America’s Got Talent: The Champions. The challenge was to make a taped competition feel live and interactive while also collecting useful audience demographic data.
Telescope used customized touchpads for six pre-taped episodes and SMS voting for the finale, combining audience votes with data capture and on-air visualization. The results were displayed during the broadcast by demographic group, state, region, age range, and gender, with votes recorded instantly and verified results revealed in show, helping drive a more live-action viewing experience.
