London Internet Exchange - Customer Case Study

The London Internet Exchange (LINX) is a not-for-profit Internet exchange connecting approximately 960 member ASNs across 80+ countries and operating 16 locations across London. To keep pace with cloud adoption, rising customer demands and the need for greater resilience and 100% uptime as it expanded, LINX leaned on long-term partner Telehouse and its data-centre colocation, connectivity and network infrastructure services to future‑proof its technical platform.

Telehouse’s engineering teams designed and deployed a new network solution across Telehouse facilities — linking LINX’s fabric between four Telehouse buildings, providing colocation, cross-connects and continuous operational support. Telehouse implemented the setup within its data centre with no service disruption (maintaining continuity through the COVID pandemic) and helped enable LINX’s continued growth and reach; LINX has grown from about 100 members in 2000 to roughly 960 member ASNs today, while the two organisations also formed a strategic sales and marketing partnership to expand colocation and connectivity offerings.
