Hexmodal tests cryogenic monitoring at -190°C with TEKTELIC

Hexmodal faced the challenge of monitoring the ultra-sterile environment of a hospital liquid nitrogen storage room, where manual checks increased contamination risks and standard solutions could not withstand cryogenic temperatures or meet strict NIST-certification standards. To address this, they tested a solution built around TEKTELIC's TUNDRA sensor with an external probe.

TEKTELIC implemented a wireless monitoring system using their TUNDRA sensor with a cryogenic-capable external probe and an E-Ink display, all connected via their KONA Micro LoRaWAN® Gateway. This allowed staff to view real-time temperature readings from outside the room. The solution was successfully tested in a lab setting, showing strong potential to reduce manual checks, maintain cleanliness, and ensure reliable, compliant monitoring without disrupting hospital operations.
