SENTINEL Manages ERP Data to Drive Parker Hannifin Hydraulic Filter Division Labeling

Parker Hannifin Hydraulic Filter Division, a manufacturing operation in Metamora, Ohio, needed a better way to produce bar-coded customer labels from ERP data with minimal manual entry. Using TEKLYNX software, the company had been relying on operators to retype data from traveler tickets into standalone workstations, which caused transcription errors, format mistakes, and delays when handling different customer label requirements.

TEKLYNX implemented SENTINEL print management software with CODESOFT label design, moving label printing to a centralized print server that pulls ERP data into XML, selects the correct label format, and sends jobs to network printers. The new process eliminated local processing, improved control and consistency, reduced format errors, and made label data more accurate. It also allowed labels to be generated earlier in the production flow, helping Parker Hannifin use less expensive labor and giving more people a chance to catch errors as jobs moved through the plant.
