Construction Management Company needed a better way to track more than 2,000 tools, fixed assets, and consumable materials across the World Trade Center construction site in New York City while meeting Federal Acquisition Regulation audit requirements. The company moved away from a manual system and worked with TEKLYNX partner Data Support, using TEKLYNX BACKTRACK Asset and Inventory Tracking Software as the core of the Tool Hawk tool tracking solution.

Data Support implemented a single Tool Hawk/BACKTRACK system that handled tool checkout and returns, fixed asset tracking, and bulk material inventory on Symbol MC70 handheld computers with daily uploads to a desktop PC. The system improved control and reporting, allowing the construction management company to track who had each tool, where it was used, and how materials were consumed, while supporting audits and custom reporting within one platform from TEKLYNX.
