The City of Florence partnered with C Spire to strengthen business continuity and disaster recovery for its municipal operations. Faced with the need to protect more than 700 employees across 28 remote locations and ensure services could continue during a natural disaster or major outage, the city sought a more resilient, cost-effective failover strategy for its core systems.

C Spire implemented a solution centered on EMC RecoverPoint, VMware Site Recovery Manager, EMC VNX storage, and Cisco servers/switches to enable continuous replication between the primary site and a secondary DR location. The result was a successful unplanned failover test with zero data loss: the city moved all data, email, and applications to the DR site within about one hour and then returned to normal operations just as quickly, significantly improving RPO/RTO and overall recovery readiness.
