TekLink helped the largest tobacco and cigarettes producing company modernize its supply chain and logistics analytics environment. The customer needed a better cloud platform because Teradata was falling short on performance, cost-effectiveness, and features compared with Microsoft Azure.

TekLink migrated the initial data set to Azure Data Lake Store using Spark data frames and Azure’s distributed processing capabilities, then transformed the data for reporting and loaded it for direct analysis in Power BI. The result was faster load and transform processing than in Teradata, a simpler architecture, and lower processing costs through Databricks’ pay-as-you-go model, with TekLink also reducing migration costs and providing ongoing support.
