TekLink worked with a large Fortune 200 CPG company in North America that was struggling with trade-spend levels above 35% of sales, slow and unreliable promotion planning, and missed reporting SLAs. The client’s ATPM-based trade management environment had performance issues, limited visibility into promotional P&L, and reporting that could not keep up with business needs.

TekLink implemented a separate BW on HANA environment with development and QA on Amazon Cloud and production on premise, while optimizing data models and ABAP, leveraging HANA Studio, and redesigning planning and update processes. TekLink also introduced day-level planning, removed unnecessary promotion types, streamlined display pallet functionality, and built promotion effectiveness dashboards in BusinessObjects. The result was near-real-time visibility, multi-fold improvements in planning and reporting performance, elimination of SLA issues, better planning accuracy, and improved trade promotion effectiveness that helped boost operating margin.
