University of Missouri Takes a Proactive Stance on Technology; Teaching and Learning Task Force Implements Tegrity

The University of Missouri (Mizzou) formed a teaching-with-technology task force after finding several instructors were doing manual, time-intensive lecture capture. To support campus e-learning goals and give students better access for catching up after absences and reviewing for exams, the university sought a standardized, easy-to-use lecture capture solution.

Mizzou chose Tegrity for its software-based, user-friendly workflow (record, stop, publish to Blackboard), avoiding costly classroom appliances. Launched in fall 2009, adoption grew from 69 instructors in the first semester to about 284 courses and 8,000 active students; students report improved study habits, no drop in attendance, and the university provides ongoing faculty support and training.
