A Tegile Case Study
Washington and Lee University needed to centralize scattered, failing storage, support a new Citrix VDI environment, and deliver reliable remote access and backup for a growing campus network. Its existing HP and Data Domain systems were struggling with performance, capacity, and recovery costs, especially as virtualization and storage demands increased.
Tegile implemented flash arrays for both file shares and VDI, with snapshot-based backups and bidirectional replication. With Tegile, Washington and Lee University cut storage needs by 22% to 70% depending on the use case, increased IOPS from 6,000 to about 40,000, and reduced restore times from days to minutes while also lowering overall storage costs by up to 90%.
