A Tegile Case Study
The University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine needed a storage platform that could reliably support axiUm and keep up with more than 300 dental patients a day, including a morning surge of simultaneous check-ins at its on-campus clinic. Existing HDD-based storage was creating I/O bottlenecks, high latency, and slow response times for staff and clinicians serving 65,000 patients annually.
Tegile implemented hybrid storage arrays for the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine, including an HA2100EP array with expansion units, to deliver higher performance and built-in deduplication and compression. The results eliminated the IOPS and latency bottlenecks, improved responsiveness across 300 dental chairs, and reduced storage capacity by 27% in one pool and 38% in another, with the school planning to add another Tegile array.
