Renal Ventures Management, a leading dialysis services provider, was running a server virtualization initiative to migrate HP servers to Citrix XenServer and XenApp, but its existing HP storage arrays could not keep up with the higher IOPS demands of the virtualized environment. After evaluating HP, EMC, NetApp, and Tegile, the company needed a higher-performance, flexible storage solution that would avoid bottlenecks without driving up costs.
Tegile implemented an HA2100 hybrid storage array with 9 TB of solid state storage configured as NFS storage for the Citrix environment. The result was five virtual machines running successfully on XenServer, with the storage performing as promised; Tegile also delivered the performance, flexibility, and reputation Renal Ventures wanted, while keeping the solution cost-effective and scalable for future growth.
