Tegile Systems Rescues Mary Lanning Healthcare From Cost, Bottlenecks of Outdated EMC Storage
Mary Lanning Healthcare, a major medical facility serving central Nebraska, was struggling to meet the storage performance demands of its highly virtualized VMware and VMware View environment while also dealing with high EMC support costs. The hospital needed a more efficient, cost-predictable storage platform that could support virtual desktops and server virtualization without creating new bottlenecks, and it chose Tegile for the upgrade.
Tegile implemented two hybrid arrays, including a HA2100 and JA2100 expansion array, which were compatible with Mary Lanning’s existing DataCore SANsymphony setup. The result was a 4X performance improvement, storage footprint reductions of 75% for VDI and more than 50% for server virtualization, and an increase from 8,000 IOPS on the EMC Clariion to 32,000 IOPS on Tegile. Tegile also delivered the system quickly, with remote installation completed soon after purchase, helping Mary Lanning replace its end-of-life storage with minimal disruption.
