Tegile Systems Arrays Make Dollars And Sense For University Of Northwestern – St. Paul

The University of Northwestern – St. Paul needed to replace its aging Dell Compellent storage system after reliability issues and end-of-support concerns, while also improving functionality without exceeding a tight education budget. The school worked with Tegile and evaluated the Tegile Hybrid Storage Array as a more cost-effective alternative.

Tegile implemented HA2400 and HA2100 Intelligent Flash Arrays to support iSCSI, Fibre Channel, compression, deduplication, and replication to the DR site. The result was about $200,000 in five-year TCO savings, $35,000 in annual support savings, 75% less floor space, around 40% data reduction, and up to 20% faster boot times, with fewer user complaints and room to expand future virtual desktop needs.
