Bank of Stockton Cashes In On Administrative Cost Savings with VDI Project Powered by Tegile Systems

Bank of Stockton, the 146-year-old California bank with 16 branches, needed a better way to manage and support distributed desktops as part of its VDI initiative. Its existing storage couldn’t handle peak lunchtime demand, causing slowdowns for VMware View users and making desktop troubleshooting and repairs difficult across branch locations.

To solve this, Bank of Stockton implemented Tegile hybrid storage arrays from Tegile, replacing its previous storage with two HA2100EP systems. The result was more than six times the performance of its prior NetApp storage, with average VDI performance of 20,000 IOPS and peaks of 40,000 IOPS. Tegile also exceeded data reduction expectations, shrinking 160 virtual desktops and related data to just 3TB, and its responsive support helped the bank continue expanding the deployment, including an additional Tegile HA2300 array for disaster recovery.
