Elkay Plastics, a Los Angeles–based manufacturer of industrial and retail plastic bags with over 2,200 SKUs and multiple regional distribution centers, needed to deliver products JIT—ideally within three hours of order—yet was hampered by an aging, closed distribution system that could not scale or integrate. Elkay selected TECSYS’ EliteSeries for its simplicity, scalability and strong reporting (EliteView/Cognos), then customized functions like multi-price handling and completed a focused rollout to its distribution centers in about five months. The new system enabled centralized management, interbranch transfers, faster ad‑hoc reporting (hours to minutes), and within three months delivered measurable improvements in customer service and reduced inventories — with potential to significantly consolidate customer service staffing.
