Prime Cargo, a large international 3PL based in Kolding, Denmark, was struggling to keep up with rapid e‑commerce growth (15–20% annually) and customer demands for fast delivery and high service quality — including a major client expanding its online business — while needing to withstand 10–20x package volumes on peak days like Black Friday.

To meet the challenge Prime Cargo upgraded its existing Tecsys WMS with an Autostore® automation across two 43,000 sq ft halls: 5,500 storage boxes stacked up to 16 high (88,000 boxes, >1M SKU capacity) served by 45 robots. Implemented in 8–9 months and live in September, the solution tripled product capacity in the same footprint, cut pick time to one‑third per shipment, reduced employee travel and stress, and positioned Prime Cargo to handle rapid e‑commerce growth and win new customers.
