Toyota Motorsport in Cologne, Germany, needed a faster and more accurate way to analyze complex wind tunnel data to improve vehicle aerodynamics, especially the wake behind the front wheels. Using Tecplot software with its PIV and CFD workflows, the team could visualize, quantify, and compare flow data more effectively to support high-performance car design.

Tecplot helped Toyota Motorsport post-process 300-dataset PIV measurements, overlay CFD results, and rapidly identify where the CFD methodology needed adjustment until the simulations matched wind tunnel results. The result was a shorter, more reliable optimization cycle that improved separation-point placement and helped Toyota Motorsport deliver more accurate aerodynamic analysis and faster design iterations for its automotive clients.
