The customer, iReservoir.com, needed to understand the complex subsurface fluid interactions in oil and gas reservoirs to optimize recovery methods for its clients. This challenge required interpreting immense amounts of data from complex simulations, which was impossible with physical testing alone. To address this, iReservoir turned to the vendor Tecplot, Inc. and its Tecplot RS visualization software.

The solution involved using Tecplot RS to visualize simulation data, creating 2D and 3D views of fluid flow and well production. This allowed iReservoir engineers to evaluate different recovery methods, such as water-alternating-gas (WAG) injection, and optimize them to improve sweep efficiency and maximize economic recovery. Tecplot RS enabled the team to produce high-quality visualizations from large datasets, providing clear insights that led to enhanced oil recovery for their clients.
