Connell Wagner, working on the Melbourne Cricket Ground redevelopment in Melbourne, Australia, needed to improve ventilation and environmental performance for the new stadium. The team used Tecplot 360 alongside PHOENICS to analyze air movement as part of the design process for the expanded facility.

Tecplot helped Connell Wagner visualize CFD results for studies including smoke modeling, spectator comfort, internal air movement, exhaust dispersion, and airflow changes across the pitch caused by the new Northern Stand. The analysis supported a more sustainable, safer design for the $250 million redevelopment, helping prepare the MCG to become one of the world’s most innovative stadiums and an international venue ready for major events by 2005–2006.
