The client, a telecommunications service provider and the fourth-largest wireless network operator in the US, faced a massive increase in data volumes from 4G LTE technology that overwhelmed its traditional data warehouse and threatened its SLAs. After exploring costly data warehouse appliances, Technosoft helped the client compare alternatives and identified the Hadoop framework as a more cost-effective and scalable platform to complement the existing system for handling network performance metrics.

Technosoft implemented a proof-of-concept that successfully integrated Hadoop to store and process historical data, while the operational data remained in the data warehouse. This hybrid solution, developed using tools like Hive and Pig, resulted in a 3.5x performance improvement in data delivery.
