A Technology Associates Case Study

Preview of the Marquette University Case Study

University Identifies IT Project Priorities, Delivers Results to CIO and VP of Finance

Marquette University, a large Jesuit university in Milwaukee, wanted to improve how it tracked, prioritized, and managed both active and potential IT projects. Working with Technology Associates, the university looked to expand its project management practices and gain better business intelligence and resource visibility using Microsoft Project Server 2010 and Microsoft Project Professional 2010.

Technology Associates helped Marquette implement Project Server 2010 in a virtual environment, integrating project data, prioritization rules, resource management, dashboards, and workflow capabilities with SharePoint and Exchange. As a result, Marquette now has one source for all projects, can send Finance a ranked list of projects, better spot resource overallocation, and automate reporting; demand for project management services has increased, with the number of managed projects rising by 5–7 over the last year.
