ATB Financial, the Alberta-based financial institution behind the new digital bank ATB Brightside, wanted to create an all-digital, mobile-first challenger bank to better serve underserved households and respond to the rise of challenger banks and open banking. To do this, ATB selected Technisys as its digital core banking platform partner after evaluating many systems, looking for flexibility, scalability, and support for a modern customer experience.

Technisys provided the cloud-based core and omni-channel digital banking platform for ATB Brightside, enabling a natively open architecture, dynamic APIs, strong security, and fast product creation. The solution helped ATB launch a new bank designed to onboard customers online in about one minute, support mobile-first interactions, and deliver simplified savings and lending experiences; at the time of the case study, ATB was beginning trial enrollments and expected to scale to hundreds of thousands of customers within two to three years.
