The Doctor’s Clinic is a family medicine practice in Lafayette, GA founded by Dr. Fred Duhon 42 years ago. With a seven-person team seeing about 75 patients a week, the office relied on paper records and an outdated DOS billing system; when Office Coordinator Melinda Jewell took over she found chaotic workflows, slow check-ins, poor claim tracking, high denials and weak patient collections.

They implemented Kareo (Billing and planned Clinical) for scheduling, point-of-service payments, claims processing and payment posting, which automated many manual tasks and provided real-time alerts for denials. As a result check-in sped up so one staffer handles payments, no-shows fell from about 20 to 5 per month, payments arrive much faster via electronic submission, denials dropped, and the practice’s revenue increased by 35%.
