Akron Skin Center is a dermatology practice Dr. James Libecco formed by combining two paper-based offices. After struggling with expensive or discontinued systems (MicroMD and Workflow), the practice needed a reliable, specialty-focused electronic health record and a practice management solution to replace paper workflows and support growth.

They implemented Modernizing Medicine’s EMA EHR paired with Kareo Billing, using a bidirectional interface for fast, automated superbill and claims processing. The result was rapid onboarding and greater efficiency—about 75 daily visits with one biller and three admins, <3% denials, 80% of claims paid in under 30 days, roughly 35 days A/R, and improved clinical decision support and reporting.
