A Tebra Case Study
Guilford Youth & Family Services (GY&FS) is a public agency that provides counseling, case management, and school-based prevention programs for youth and families. Although primarily funded by the town and state, GY&FS must bill insurers to raise a required $80,000 annually; when director Lyne Landry took over the organization was only billing about $35,000 due to a cumbersome billing system and limited billing experience, putting the agency’s operations at risk.
GY&FS brought in a consultant who recommended and helped implement Kareo Billing with the Practice Fusion EHR; staff were trained quickly and the system was easy to adopt. Within a year they met the $80,000 target (later raised to $90,000 and now running ~30% ahead), reduced A/R dramatically (no commercial A/R over 30 days, 0% over 90 days), sped up Medicaid and Anthem payments, simplified patient statements and reporting, and freed time to expand services such as a domestic violence program and enhanced school prevention.
