A Tebra Case Study
The Speech Path is a pediatric therapy practice founded in 2005 that grew to offer speech, physical and occupational therapy across two Georgia locations. By 2011, co-owner Kate Lewis discovered the practice was hampered by a patchwork of manual and electronic systems—Google Calendar scheduling, hand‑written superbills and a home‑grown claims process—which led to overstaffing, inconsistent billing, frequent denials, no A/R visibility and unstable revenue.
In early 2012 they implemented WebPT and Kareo to centralize scheduling, charts and billing, enabling a back‑office restructure that cut four full‑time positions while adding providers. Today five support staff manage 21 providers across two sites, submit claims twice daily, receive some payments in as little as five days (Tricare ~10 days), maintain a 6% denial rate, average days in A/R of 33 (most recent month 20) and treat about 400 patients per week—delivering steadier revenue and robust reporting for faster decisions.
