Gilt, the e‑tailer behind flash sales and the Gilt City Warehouse Sale pop-ups, struggled with slow, antiquated checkout processes and a constantly changing assortment that required handling thousands of SKUs and quickly training temporary event staff. To modernize its pop-up operations Gilt selected Teamwork Retail’s cloud-based Retail POS System (a mobile POS solution using iPads and a PC back office).

Teamwork Retail’s mPOS was deployed across Gilt City events, giving associates full transactional capability (signature capture, inventory tracking/management) on the sales floor. The solution let Gilt rapidly process peak traffic—checking out up to 500 customers in the final 20–25 minutes of a two‑hour shopping window without long lines—streamlined operations and enabled new initiatives like the appointment‑only Gilt By Appointment experience.
