Teamwork Retail using Microsoft Azure and AppScale to provide the next-gen retail experience

Teamwork Commerce, a retail technology provider serving businesses with cloud-based point-of-sale and business management solutions, needed to move its Google App Engine applications to a cloud platform that could operate in China with minimal disruption. Because Google Cloud Platform was not usable there due to regulatory controls, the company turned to AppScale to help preserve its existing solution while expanding into the Chinese market.

AppScale enabled Teamwork Commerce to migrate its applications from Google App Engine to Microsoft Azure without code changes, running them in Azure’s Beijing datacenter to achieve the low latency, high performance, and reliability required. As a result, AppScale helped Teamwork Commerce successfully serve retailers in China, expand its business and client base, and add new capabilities such as loyalty programs and customer notifications, while maintaining strong omnichannel performance.
