Case Study: Oti and Marius Dance Studio achieves expanded reach and sustainable growth with TeamUp

A TeamUp Case Study

Preview of the Oti and Marius Dance Studio Case Study

The benefits of running dance classes online

Oti and Marius Dance Studio, founded by professional dancers Oti Mabuse and Marius Iepure in Park Royal, London, planned to open in April 2020 but were forced to delay by COVID-19 lockdowns. With a student base largely of competitive dancers aged 10–20 and an urgent need to keep momentum and income, the studio faced the challenge of replacing in-person training and maintaining community connections while the physical space remained closed.

They quickly pivoted to free social media classes and structured online lessons using TeamUp and Zoom, teaching from the studio, office and home and offering mixed memberships so students could alternate between online and in-person sessions. The shift preserved and grew their client base—reaching students across countries—boosted discipline and confidence, increased family involvement, generated rental income early on, and enabled a safe, phased reopening with a lasting hybrid model that continues to benefit both business and students.
