Case Study: ConsenSys achieves near-zero month-end reconciliation and real-time spend visibility with Teampay

A Teampay Case Study

ConsenSys - Customer Case Study

ConsenSys, a distributed blockchain software company with ~1,000 employees (400 in the U.S.), was struggling with a decentralized purchasing model that relied on shared corporate cards. Finance couldn’t track spending by team, reconciliations required chasing receipts against 90–100 page monthly AmEx statements, and the company wanted a light-touch process that still provided guardrails. To solve this they partnered with Teampay, adopting virtual cards, spend controls, Slack workflow integration, and QuickBooks Online syncing.

Teampay implemented one-time virtual cards with built-in approvals, a policy engine for pre-spend limits, Slack-based workflows, and automated QuickBooks Online reconciliation. The result: ConsenSys moved from a highly manual close to a virtually touch-free month-end—reducing 90–100 page statements to almost nothing—gained real-time visibility across cost centers, and can now track who is spending by team while empowering employees to purchase as needed.
