A TeamDesk Case Study
Microgen Engine Corporation, a high-tech developer with design and engineering in the UK, development in Japan and production in China, needed a way to control documents, ensure everyone worked from the same drawings across continents, and track field trial engines, run cycles and run hours. They selected TeamDesk’s customizable web-based database to provide controlled cross-border communication, document management and workflow-driven engineering change and concession processes.
TeamDesk implemented a bespoke web database with workflow-based engineering change and concession approvals, customer issue reporting, automatic production-data upload via API, backup/restore and flexible schema changes. As a result Microgen centralized mission‑critical operations (durability data, technical files, logistics, purchasing, inventory, production stats, warranty and programme management), gained reliable predictions of engine reliability, and successfully launched production of the world’s first commercial 1 kW Free Piston Stirling Engine—making TeamDesk the backbone of their business-critical systems with seamless upgrades and measurable production and reliability metrics.
