Northern Rail saves over 28,000 kWh with TEAM’s energy-efficient lighting project
Northern Rail, a long-term user of TEAM's Sigma Software, faced challenges with outdated and inefficient lighting at its Rainhill Railway Station, which had suffered from a lack of investment and vandalism.
TEAM supported the implementation of a new LED lighting solution equipped with passive infrared sensors. This system dims lights to 10% when no movement is detected, saving energy while keeping the platform welcoming. The project, delivered by TEAM, saved over 28,000 kWh of electricity and significantly improved the customer experience, leading Northern Rail to win the 'Industrial and Transport Lighting Project of the Year' at the Lux Awards 2015.
