TealBook Partnership Positions UMass for Further Success in Supplier Diversity

UMass, the University of Massachusetts system, needed a better way to identify and track diverse suppliers across its six campuses in order to advance its supplier diversity goals. To support this effort, UMass partnered with TealBook and its supplier data intelligence platform to enrich supplier records and improve visibility into diverse sourcing.

TealBook implemented a supplier diversity intelligence solution that added dashboards, spend categorization, and watchlist notifications through a new online portal. In the first year, UMass saw a 28% increase in identified diverse spend, rising from about $50 million to $64 million, and a 28% increase in identified diverse suppliers, from 709 to 906. The platform also gave UMass deeper insight into minority business enterprise spend and helped validate a reported 33% increase in supplier diversity spend since UPST launched in 2020.
