Starlab builds a 20–30 year space station twin with Teague

The customer, Starlab, a joint venture led by Voyager Technologies, needed a full-scale, high-fidelity mockup of its new space station to support astronaut training and operations. The challenge was to design and build this reconfigurable mockup in parallel with the station's own development, requiring a robust and modular system that could adapt to evolving requirements for decades. Teague was selected to provide design, engineering, and prototyping services to meet this need.

Teague designed and built a modular, three-level habitat mockup installed at NASA’s Johnson Space Center. The solution featured independent structural systems that could be easily swapped out as designs changed. This created a durable, high-fidelity twin that allows the program to rehearse and validate procedures on Earth first, dramatically reducing risk for the space station. For Starlab and NASA, Teague delivered a long-term training hub and a public-facing showcase that accelerates the station's realization and derisks its entire evolution.
