A TCP Software Case Study
The University of Pittsburgh’s Department of Critical Care Medicine (part of the Multidisciplinary Acute Care Research Organization, MACRO) needed reliable 24/7 scheduling for 14 Clinical Trials Research Assistants—mostly undergraduates with complex, irregular availability. Previously schedules were cobbled together via emailed availabilities and Google Calendar, which produced frequent conflicts and time-consuming manual fixes. To address this, they turned to TCP Software’s Humanity scheduling platform.
TCP Software implemented Humanity to collect availability, build shifts, and manage swaps and last‑minute communications. The result was a far more streamlined process with “dramatically fewer scheduling issues,” easier shift swaps, fewer mass emails, and confidence in maintaining round‑the‑clock coverage for clinical trial screening and enrollment; Humanity’s web interface and 24/7 support also simplified ongoing schedule management.
