The University of Michigan Medical School’s Office of Medical Student Education Standardized Patient Program manages about 185 staff with highly variable schedules—many employees work only 2–3 events per year—and was previously scheduling by pencil and paper. To address inconsistent rostering and time‑consuming communications, the school partnered with TCP Software and implemented its Humanity work‑scheduler.
TCP Software’s Humanity replaced manual processes with online shift scheduling, a Message Wall for team communications, and shared document uploads. The change eliminated individual emails, created consistent schedules for standardized patients, and “saved time,” enabling the program to operate more efficiently and consider rolling the solution out to other departments.
