A TCP Software Case Study
The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI), a Portland-based hands-on science center serving over one million visitors, needed a better way to schedule about 90 education staff, interns and work-study employees. Previously OMSI relied on a single shared Excel spreadsheet that only one person could access, required printing daily schedules that became outdated within days, and risked broken formulas and limited museum-computer access. To modernize scheduling, OMSI adopted TCP Software’s workforce scheduling product, Humanity.
TCP Software implemented Humanity to deliver mobile, real-time schedules accessible on iPads and other devices, replacing printed sheets and single-user spreadsheets. The solution streamlined scheduling for the education department, made hours and overtime tracking easier, equalized on-call assignments, and generated reports for volunteer services—improving operational efficiency and frontline customer service.
