A TCP Software Case Study
Edina School District, a suburban public district serving about 8,500 students and roughly 1,200 staff, struggled with hourly time-tracking errors and late manager approvals that led to costly overpayments and off-cycle payroll runs. The district used TCP’s TimeClock Plus to track time for about 600 hourly employees, but only 40% of timesheets were being approved on time and data-entry mistakes (for example, clocking out at 3 a.m. instead of 3 p.m.) were slipping through, while a three-person payroll team had limited capacity to monitor issues.
Working closely with TCP (TimeClock Plus) customer support, payroll specialist Doyle Piper implemented automated reminder emails, stricter pay-period closing and locking, exception-based reporting, and reusable report templates to reduce manual work. With TCP’s solution in place, on-time timesheet approvals rose from 40% to 90–95% (a reported 100% increase), payroll productivity increased about 50%, and errors and off-cycle payouts were significantly reduced.
