How the Minnesota Department of Corrections Simplified Scheduling Across Nine Facilities with Aladtec

The Minnesota Department of Corrections needed a faster, more adaptable scheduling solution to manage 331 officer positions across nine facilities, where complex rotations, vacation requests, and shift exchanges were overwhelming its previous system. The department turned to TCP Software’s Aladtec to replace a platform that couldn’t consistently build schedules or handle the variety of correctional staffing models.

TCP Software implemented Aladtec with close support during rollout, tailoring the configuration to staff feedback and different facility needs. The results were immediate: vacation approvals dropped from up to three hours per week to under 30 minutes, autofill went from overnight to under five minutes, and building a pay-period schedule was reduced from multiple days to 30–60 minutes.
