A TCP Software Case Study
The California Wildlife Center in Malibu is a small non-profit wildlife rehabilitation facility (founded 1998, 6 staff and ~90 volunteers) that cares for more than 3,400 injured, sick and orphaned animals each year. Managing a dispersed volunteer pool with a paper-based calendar left chronic shift gaps and coordination problems, so the center turned to TCP Software to implement the Humanity work scheduler.
TCP Software’s Humanity solution gave volunteers easy online access to the full schedule, shift trading, and visibility into staffing needs, plus a Message Wall for group communication. The result, as reported by Executive Director Cindy Reyes, is a “HUGE improvement”: dramatically better shift coverage, faster response to scheduling issues, and improved coordination and communication for staff and volunteers.
