A TCP Software Case Study
Beloit College Museums, which operates the Wright Museum of Art and the Logan Museum of Anthropology, faced a recurring staffing challenge: scheduling 22 student work-study employees whose availability changes with classes, exams and field trips. Their previous process relied on handwritten availability sheets and a master Google Calendar, which was time-consuming, paper-heavy and made finding last-minute replacements difficult. To address this, they adopted TCP Software’s Humanity employee scheduling solution.
TCP Software implemented Humanity in August 2011 to automate scheduling, publish shifts, and provide a Message Wall for communications. The museums report significantly less paper and admin time, more efficient shift coverage, and fewer hours spent finding replacements—keeping all 22 student employees current on their schedules—and plan to add Humanity’s Vacation tool. Becky Moffett praises the system’s versatility and ease of use, noting a clear improvement in scheduling efficiency since TCP Software’s deployment.
